Assistant Athletic Trainer:

As a key member of Berkeley’s Sports Medicine team, reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will provide coverage to an athletic department that encompasses 16 sports. Berkeley fields over 80 teams of student athletes ranging from grades 6-12, which participate in the Florida High School Athletic Association. We are looking for a dynamic individual with the ability to think independently as well as work within a group setting

Qualified Candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelors degree in Athletic Training from an accredited CAATE institution
  • Current State of Florida Athletic Trainer’s License or eligible
  • Current NATABOC certification

Position Responsibilities:

 The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible in assisting the Head Athletic Trainer in the following areas:

  • Supervision of Athletic Training facilities
  • Prevention/Care and Evaluation of Athletic Injuries
  • Implementation and supervision of rehabilitation programs
  • Provide team coverage as assigned
  • Maintain accurate records of athletic forms, injury reports, notes, and treatments
  • Coverage of after-school practices and games
  • Comply with all Berkeley/State/National policies and additional professional responsibilities as outlined in the current BOC Role Delineation/Practice Analysis
  • Some team travel as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
  • Communication with team physicians, coaches, parents, and other school officials
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
  • Other duties as assigned by the Headmaster

Compensation and Benefits:

The appointment is a full-time, year-round, position with full benefits. The compensation package will be very competitive nationally and commensurate with experience, degree attainment and the national independent school and college markets.
