St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School seeks a Certified Athletic Trainer for seasonal full-time summer camp coverage from June 10th to August 12th.  Reporting to the Director of Summer Programs, the Athletic Trainer will be providing athletic training and first aid services to children ages 5-18. The position is based at the school's Upper School Campus, where the majority of sports camps are hosted. For more information about Summertimes programs, please visit: www.summertimes.org.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Administer appropriate first aid care to campers and employees
  • Conduct an initial assessment of an injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care
  • Monitor weather/temperature conditions for participation outdoors and ensure camps have access to water stations
  • Maintain and inspect completeness and correctness of camper medical records
  • Assist staff and parents with medical and health questions
  • Identify, implement, and enforce necessary health and safety procedures to maximize the camp experience for everyone
  • Participate in Summertimes trainings and meetings as required
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Specific skill sets and qualifications required are:

  • Strong communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Board of Certification for Athletic Training
  • Virginia License/Board of Medicine in Virginia
  • CPR/AED Certified
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office
