As an ordained Episcopal Priest, the Chaplain reports to the Dean of Spiritual Life. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate and participate in daily worship and in special seasonal chapel services and events, leading the Liturgy Planning Group, managing the Chapel calendar, and officiating and preaching as scheduled.
  • Develop and manage the Chapel budget.
  • Teach classes as assigned by the Department Chair and approved by the Head of School.
  • Provide pastoral care to our students, faculty, staff, and families, coordinating with the Dean of Spiritual Life, and serving as a member of the Student Support Group.
  • Assist with the freshman and senior retreats.
  • Serve as the school’s Safeguarding trainer.
  • Be actively involved in the life of the School – such as attendance at after-school athletic, arts, or academic events.

The successful candidate will support the school’s mission in providing opportunities for each student to reach his or her maximum spiritual, intellectual, social, and ethical potential. As a laptop school, EHS also expects teachers to support its laptop program and be committed to using technology effectively and creatively to enhance student learning and facilitate course administration.
