Porter-Gaud School in Charleston, South Carolina seeks a new Director of Finance and Auxiliary Services.

The Position 

Reporting to the Head of School, the new Director will oversee all aspects of the School’s finances and business operations, working closely with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and Senior Administration. S/he must forge strong relationships within the larger school community, and will be asked to manage roles and responsibilities to maximize service to the School. This position supervises the following people: Controller, Assistant Business Manager & Director of Financial Aid, Director of Technology, Health Services, Director of Lyceum (tutoring center), the Director of Auxiliary Services, and Dining Operations (contracted).

Porter-Gaud owns and operates a substantial preschool program (The O'Quinn Schools). O’Quinn enrolls approximately 620 students on two additional campuses.  The Director of Finance and Auxiliary Services is responsible for the significant finances and business operations of this fourth division of the school.

The Director safeguards the financial, human, physical, and technology resources of the School and works proactively to ensure that they are used to the best advantage in support of the School’s mission.  He/she is the custodian of confidential data about the School and its employees and ensures that such data is used with discretion.

Successful candidates will have measurable experience and interest in both finance and operations as well as demonstrated leadership in a strategic role. The School is looking for a person that is an outstanding financial professional, effective communicator, and a true team player.
