Position Starts: August 11, 2019
Application Deadline: March 4, 2019

St. Mark’s Episcopal School is excited to conduct a search for a Media Specialist for the 2019-2020 school year. St. Mark’s, established in 1979, is a coeducational parish day school, now serving 480 students from age two through grade 8 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The foundation of St. Mark’s program is to provide students with balanced exposure to academics, arts, athletics, and spiritual life. At all levels, our students will be, as our mission states, academically enriched in a nurturing Christian environment.

St. Mark’s is currently renovating its media center, reviewing its programming, and reimagining how its space and offerings will best equip our students with the characteristics and skills to help them live in our rapidly changing world. We are looking for an energetic, driven, and visionary educator to assume the role of Media Specialist in our updated Media Center, a vibrant campus and academic hub. Ideal candidates will possess a deep background in both library science and education as the position requires managing the school’s library, teaching library and media skills classes to students in PK through middle school, and working flexibly with homeroom and specialists teachers. The Media Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the library program and facility, supervises volunteers, and ensures that the library’s academic and technology resources complement, enhance, and extend the school’s educational program. Successful candidates will inspire and collaborate with teams of teachers to create innovative and integrated units of study that develop students’ skills as researchers, critical thinkers, and media literate children.

Candidates are expected to support the school’s mission and vision as well as contribute to the life of the school outside of the media center in a variety of ways. This is a full-time, 10-month, instructional position. For more information on St. Mark’s Episcopal School, please visit our website at stmarkspbg.org. Interested candidates should email a cover letter and resume to Page Cash, Head of Lower School at pcash@stmarkspbg.org.
