Lower Division Writing Specialist/Coach, Grades 2-5

Berkeley Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Writing Specialist/Coach for the 2019-2020 school year.  The Writing Specialist/Coach will work closely with teachers in grades 2-5 in the implementation of writing units of study with the goals of lifting the level of writing instruction in each classroom and providing support to align expectations throughout grades 2-5.  In addition, the Writing Specialist/Coach will provide support for students through small group and 1:1 writing instruction.  This role will also lead and support ongoing curricular development in writing, grammar, and conventions.  Qualified candidates will possess a Master’s degree in a related field and experience and/or training working with Writing Workshop Units of Study. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential. 

Compensation and Benefits:

The appointment is a full-time position with full benefits. The compensation package will be very competitive nationally and commensurate with experience, degree attainment and the national independent school and college markets.
