St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School (www.sasweb.org) seeks a Spanish language teacher with an undergraduate and/or advanced degree in Spanish or a related field.

Responsibilities will include:


  • Teaching four sections of language to students in grades 6-12
  • Participating in departmental planning and curricular review
  • Assisting with evening and weekend campus activities and supervision

Additional responsibilities will include coaching and/or teaching an afternoon program.


Qualifications Candidates will be expected to have an undergraduate and/or advanced degree in Spanish language or a related field, a commitment to innovative teaching methods, willingness to fully engage in a boarding school environment, and an enthusiasm for teaching within a diverse community of learners. Applicants with prior teaching experience, boarding school experience, interest in and experience with outdoor education, and/or the ability to coach a sport will be given special consideration.


Compensation – This is a full-time, academic year position. Salary is dependent on education and experience; teachers are given salary credit for teaching experience. Benefits include a tuition remission plan, health and dental insurance, worker’s compensation, short-term and long-term disability, group life insurance, pension plan, and eligibility for grants for professional enrichment and continuing education, on-campus housing, and meals.
