The south campus technology integration and help desk specialist will be responsible for assisting faculty in designing and integrating effective, appropriate, and innovative technologies to support and enhance student learning and the delivery of curriculum.  This individual will also provide instructional support in teaching students how to use various technologies. Additionally, the specialist will perform a variety of maintenance, software installation, end-user support and training tasks to ensure end-user workstations and network performance meet school and user requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, evaluating, and recommending emerging technology initiatives that support learning and teaching.

  • Collaborating with faculty and the division head to deploy and integrate age-/grade-appropriate technology applications across the school.

  • Assist faculty in teaching students how to effectively use technology applications.

  • Developing, coordinating, and teaching workshops and classes on instructional applications of various technologies.

  • Providing technical curriculum assistance regarding device usage, software applications, and general instructional use of technology in the classroom.

  • Collaborating with the associate heads for teaching, learning, and innovation in their efforts to lead the school’s i2 initiative.

  • Administering end-user workstations and support end-user activities. 

  • Investigating user problems and identify their source, determine possible solutions, and test and implement solutions.

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computers and devices (PCs and Mac) and other related equipment, devices, and systems; add or upgrade and configure disk drives, printers, and related equipment.

  • Performing and/or overseeing software and application installations and upgrades.

  • Developing and conducting various training and instruction for system users on operating systems and other applications and assist users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems.

  • Promoting the effort to stay current with technological knowledge and skills.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborator, innovator, and facilitator as well as possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.  Bachelor’s degree in education, information technology, educational technology, or related field preferred.

  • A minimum of one-three years of related experience.  Experience in a school preferred.

  • Current and in-depth knowledge of instructional technology hardware, software, and related web-based or other tools.

  • Experience working with faculty in all disciplines to identify instructional needs to enable/enhance student learning preferred.

  • Experience teaching students how to use various technology applications.

  • Fluency and proficiency working with PC and Macintosh operating systems and G Suite and Google Apps for Education.

  • Experience with administrative and academic database systems. Experience with Blackbaud preferred.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective, professional relationships with students, faculty, and administrators.
