NAES Partners with NAIS to Collect ECE Program and School Data

NAES ShieldNAES is partnering with the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) to collect annual statistical information about Episcopal Early Childhood Education programs and continuing schools through the NAIS DASL system. You need not be an NAES or NAIS member to participate.

The DASL survey is open now through October 10.

Join your colleagues at other Episcopal schools and submit your school’s information to help build a complete picture of the Episcopal school sector. Accurate and complete data will help us all move forward in leading and promoting excellence for our schools and students!

Why DASL?

NAES has long heard feedback from you, our schools, about your desire to complete a single statistical survey. Like the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools (SAES) and the other accrediting and membership associations, NAES is now working with NAIS to consolidate data collection into a single process. Rather than completing multiple surveys from the myriad organizations to which you belong, you now have a “one stop shop.”

This consolidated process means that NAES, using DASL’s sophisticated analysis and visualization tools, will be able to provide data summary reports about Episcopal schools to its members, the Episcopal Church, and the wider education community.

It also means that you will be able to construct an Episcopal school peer group or groups to benchmark all sorts of data, both general and Episcopal. This is why your participation is vital. Thank you for completing the survey.

Are there “Episcopal” questions?

Yes, there are! NAES and SAES have worked together to develop questions that pertain to some of the unique aspects of our schools, including shared staffing and space and the role and compensation of chaplains. You’ll encounter these questions as you move through the survey. Shared questions mean uniform data and reports.

How does my school participate?

Before you begin, please review NAIS’ Data Entry Guide and Core Questions Definitions Guide.

Complete the DASL survey now through October 10.

You need not be an NAES or NAIS member to participate. Every Episcopal school is listed in DASL as an “NAES member” regardless of actual NAES membership status. This means that every school will be able to access and answer the “Episcopal” questions in DASL. Please do not deselect this pre-assigned membership status in DASL.

What if I need help along the way?

Visit the DASL website regularly for updates, webinars, tips, and more. Or, contact NAIS staff members in Washington, DC at daslhelp@nais.org. The NAIS team is there to support you during this process and beyond.
