Position Overview

St. David’s Episcopal Day School (SDEDS) is seeking a reliable and caring Assistant Teacher to support classroom instruction and daily operations. This role is essential in maintaining a positive and structured learning environment for students.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, values teamwork, and thrives in a collaborative school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Lead Teacher in daily classroom activities and routines

Assist with student supervision, transitions, and engagement

Help prepare classroom materials and maintain organization

Provide individualized support to students as needed

Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment

Communicate effectively with the teaching team and school leadership

Qualifications

Experience working with young children preferred

Minium: Associate’s Degree required; coursework in education or child development a plus

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Dependable, flexible, and positive attitude

Compensation & Schedule

Salary: starting at $31,000 (school-year role)

Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM

Follows school-year calendar (late August through end of May), including school holidays and breaks

Additional opportunities to work Before or After Care may be available.
