St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School is excited to be searching for a experience, dynamic, collaborative Associate Athletic Director for our Upper School for the 2024-2025 school year (position to begin on July 1st, 2024). This position is a 12-month full time position.

The Associate Athletic Director for Upper School will be responsible for fostering the culture, mission, vision, and administration of the Upper School athletic program in coordination with the Director of Athletics. They will work closely with the Director of Athletics and Athletic Department in helping to coordinate the Upper School athletic program.

Specific Responsibilities

Supervision – Helps to supervise and evaluate those who coach in the Upper School Athletic Department in coordination with the Director of Athletics.
Game Day Administrator – Serves as administrator in charge multiple times a week during afternoon/evening/weekend contests. Attends all contests as assigned by the Director of Athletics to help insure a quality program.
Scheduling – Responsible for scheduling at the Upper School level in consultation with the Director of Athletics.
Hiring – In partnership with the Director of Athletics, interviews and hires all coaches in the Upper School athletic program.
Student-athlete retention and admission – Assists the Director of Athletics in student-athlete retention and admission initiatives.
Coaching – Expected at the Middle School or Upper School Level level.
School Engagement & Meetings – Engages in all aspects of school life at SSSAS, including attending DEIB meetings, divisional meetings, all school activities etc. Serves on additional school committees as needed by the school.
Communication – Open communication with the administration, Athletic Department, coaches, Physical Education teachers, students and parents regarding the operation of the US Athletic Department.
Qualifications

Previous experience as a coach, teacher, and/or administrator. A love of students and mentorship of young people both on and off the fields/courts etc.
Experience with operation of an Athletic program.
Demonstrated ability to think and work independently, multitask, and prioritize efficiently and effectively, and respond to various requests simultaneously. A keen attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Provide leadership skills and ability to work closely with the Director of Athletics in providing a worthwhile learning experience for all athletes.
