Trinity Episcopal School in Austin, Texas seeks a full-time Associate Chaplain and Service Learning Coordinator for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Associate Chaplain and Service Learning Coordinator helps plan and lead chapel worship, coordinates service learning school-wide, and develops and teaches classes in service learning and religion. This position’s key responsibilities and qualifications are described below.
Chapel Worship
- Collaborate with the Chaplain to plan and lead school-wide (Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School) chapel programming, including daily chapel worship and special worship services
- Work with the Chaplain to develop and lead a Middle School student chapel leadership team
Service Learning and Teaching
- With guidance from the Chaplain and division heads, coordinate with grade-level teams and advisories school-wide to develop service learning opportunities, ongoing community partnerships, and curriculum, topics, and themes, including connections with diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB)
- Manage the Middle School service learning distinction process, including communicating with students and families about service learning resources and opportunities and tracking student service hours and reflections
- Develop and teach a Middle School service learning class
- Collaborate with the Chaplain on development and school-wide alignment of Religion curriculum and teach Religion classes as needed
Administrative
- Partner with the Chaplain to provide pastoral care to the Trinity community
- Serve as a Middle School advisor
- Perform student supervision duties as assigned by division heads
- This position reports to the Chaplain
Qualifications
- Ordained clergy (Episcopal Church or full communion partner; must become licensed in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas) or lay person
- A Masters or other advanced degree in a related area of study is preferred
- Previous experience in school or youth ministry is preferred
- A passion for pastoral ministry in an academic setting
- Must be committed to the principles of the Episcopal identity of the school while serving in a diverse community
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills
- Excellent judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and able to work with multiple constituencies while maintaining appropriate confidentiality
