Position Overview: Christchurch School seeks to hire an Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer works throughout the school’s three athletic seasons to support the safe and healthy performance of student-athletes. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.

Job Responsibilities:
- Responding to injuries during games and practices and communicating with parents and applicable faculty members
- Referring athletic injuries to physicians for diagnosis and/or treatment
- Scheduling and coordinating concussion testing sessions for student-athletes, as well as evaluating and treating students who sustain a head injury
- Working with coaches, Health Services, and the Head Mental Health and Performance Counselor to support injured student-athletes
- Assisting and advising the coaching staff regarding injury care, injury prevention, conditioning programs, and the selection, care, and fitting of protective equipment
- Managing and certifying coaching staff in CPR/AED and First Aid
- Providing supervision, as required by the Director of Athletics, Christchurch School, and/or VISAA (Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association), at home contests, away contests, and state or national tournament contests
- Act as an advisory to a student advisory group and do evening and weekend duty on a rotating basis
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must have, or be eligible for, Virginia licensure as a Certified Athletic Trainer, and any/all other licenses, certificates, or other qualifications necessary to act fully as the Christchurch School Athletic Trainer
- Ability and willingness to work as a team member with general education staff
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of computers and variety of software used in athletic training services program.

- Ability to handle all physical demands of being the Athletic Trainer
- Ability to be mobile around campus and buildings

- Fast-paced, small boarding and day school
- Travel may be required
