JOB SUMMARY

CFS is seeking an organized, creative, self-motivated and energetic individual to direct all aspects of annual giving and donor acquisition. We are looking for a positive team player with demonstrated prior experience in gift solicitation, prospect management and corporate and foundation support. Candidates must also have experience planning and leading events, particularly those events designed to attract new potential prospects to Church Farm School.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of a BA or BS degree
  • 3-5 years of progressively increasing development experience and responsibilities with verifiable outcomes
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (Blackbaud Raisers Edge and Raisers Edge NXT strongly preferred)
  • Event planning experience
  • Effective written, phone and face-to-face communication skills
  • Demonstrable understanding of multi-channel communication and marketing strategies, specifically for development purposes
  • Detailed knowledge of philanthropic best practices and donor-centered fundraising
  • Demonstrated understanding of the donor cycle
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
  • Strongly Preferred:
    • Experience working within a school environment, especially independent schools (boarding school experience a plus)
    • Strategic planning experience – creation, implementation, and evaluation
    • Experience with portfolio management and general prospect strategy systems
    • Some understanding of tax implications in/to charitable giving (particularly as it related to Planned Giving)
    • Demonstrated understanding of working with donors and families from diverse backgrounds and varying socio-economic circumstances

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight of the Annual Fund program
  • Oversight of the CFS Golf Classic, Fall Fest and Spring Fest
  • Create, implement and manage a New Donor Acquisition program
  • Creation and oversight of other local events, in collaboration with the Director of Constituent Relations
  • Collaboration with Admissions Office and other school departments to create, implement and manage events to attract new individuals to the CFS community
  • Manage portfolio of 50 to 75 prospects, with a minimum of 40 face-to-face prospect visits per year
  • Guidance of prospects throughout the entirety of their philanthropic relationships with Church Farm School: annual giving, major gifts/campaign giving, planned giving and volunteerism
  • Focus on growing members in the giving societies, particularly The 1918 Society (Leadership Annual Giving) and The Maroon & Grey Society (Loyal Giving)
  • Create/oversee new methods of giving to appeal to donors of all generations (ApplePay, GooglePay, Venmo, Paypal, Text to Give, Charitable Gift Annuities, IRA Rollover Distributions, etc.)
  • Assist the Director of Development in the management of the Development Office
  • Uphold the Profile of a CFS Leader
