The Director of Institutional Research leads and supports research, evaluation, and assessment efforts across the academic and co-curricular program. The Director collaborates with classroom teachers, program directors and leadership teams to identify areas of inquiry, design effective measurement tools, analyze and communicate results. The Director leads the professional development program and the accreditation process in close collaboration with the Principals of each Division and the school Directors. The Director of Institutional Research will report to the Head of School.
Essential Duties:
- Design and select assessment and data collection tools that elevate and support the mission and core values of the school.
- Analyze data collected in the classroom and across a range of school programs. Support data interpretation and presentation as well as action informed by data. Review research relevant to current and emerging school initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of new tools for measurement and assessment aligned with school’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Act as point person for outside data collection and reporting.
- Work with individual teachers on the intersection of assessment, teaching and learning. Support assessment of innovation grants.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Support academic departments and grade level teams.
- Participate as a member of Principals group, LEAD team and Department Chairs, lead committee work related to research, measurement and assessment.
- Create resources to share with other independent and public schools through workshops, conference presentations and web-based materials.
- Host visiting educators on campus to discuss research and assessment strategies. Oversee and manage administrative assistant.
- Develop a new database management system and lead the accreditation process.
- Lead professional development programming.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation: $8,300 – 10,800/month
- Masters degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant technical field using quantitative and qualitative approaches
- Minimum of three years proven prior experience in data and analytical research
- Minimum of three years in school or community-based research settings
