Washington Episcopal School in Bethesda, Maryland, is accepting applications for a joyful, energetic, and reflective Associate Teacher in Early Childhood for the 2026-2027 school year. 

The ideal candidate for the Early Childhood Associate Teaching position should be passionate about working with young children, possess a foundational understanding of child development, and be patient and nurturing.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • A high level of energy and initiative
  • Strong communication and teamwork  skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing, planning, and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities
  • Support the lead teacher in assessing and documenting children’s progress
  • Attend weekly grade-level meetings with the Early Childhood Director, Learning Specialist, and School Counselor
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and department meetings
  • Engage in reflective practice and professional learning opportunities to grow as an early childhood educator.

Compensation and Benefits 

Salary range:  $45,000 – $60,000

  • 60% tuition remission for the children of faculty and staff, plus additional need-based aid as applicable
  • Complimentary Extended Day for the children of faculty and staff
  • 50-100% tuition remission for Summer@WES for the children of faculty and staff
  • 9 days of PTO, plus an additional three weeks of summer leave for 12-month employees
