St. Martin’s Episcopal School seeks a culturally competent and responsive faculty member to teach Early Childhood Reading & Technology for the 2022-2023 academic school year.  A Bachelor’s degree and Orton-Gillingham training are required with relevant experience teaching young children.  Two to four years of classroom experience is preferred.  This position will teach ages 3 years old through Kindergarten.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills in:

  • motivating children to read and developing their literacy horizons
  • teaching phonemic awareness, letter knowledge, concepts of print, decoding, fluent reading, vocabulary, text comprehension, written expression, spelling and handwriting
  • proficiency in coding, interactive whiteboards, iPads, educational videoing, and digital storytelling

The schedule is M-F from 7:30am-3:00pm; some evenings and weekends required.

Candidates should be professionals who embrace working in a highly collaborative and collegial environment and are comfortable incorporating the use of various technologies to support student learning.  Faculty must be willing to actively participate in committees and school-life outside the classroom.
