Head of Middle School

St. Mark’s Episcopal School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida is seeking the school’s next Head of Middle School starting July 1, 2023.

St. Mark’s, established in 1979, is a coeducational parish day school, serving approximately 450 students from age two through Grade 8 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The foundation of the St. Mark’s program is to provide students with balanced exposure to academics, arts, athletics, and spiritual life. At all levels, our students will be as our mission states, academically enriched in a nurturing Christian environment.

Reporting to the Head of School, a member of the administrative team, the Head of Middle School is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Middle School 6th through 8th grade. The Head of Middle School is a dynamic instructional leader with a solid understanding of the developmental and curricular needs of the division. The Head of Middle School works collaboratively to inspire diverse, well-rounded and adaptable students to achieve, serve, and lead and to support the continual growth and development of St. Mark’s Episcopal School.

The Head of Middle School functions as the chief articulator of the division’s programs, expectations, behavioral guidelines, and other information necessary for the smooth running of the division; collaborates with the Heads of Lower School and Preschool to ensure the implementation of a comprehensive curriculum through the use of a variety of pedagogical strategies; observes, supervises, and evaluates an outstanding Middle School faculty; makes recommendations to the Head of School regarding the hiring, retention, and assignment of faculty; assists in the admissions process for student enrollment, supports the advancement and development of the school; and is a visible presence in all areas of the school.
