Head of Preschool

Ascension Episcopal School seeks a Head of Preschool (PK3-K)  beginning July 1, 2024,  at the Preschool Campus, located in the River Ranch neighborhood in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood or a related field
• Significant experience in an early childhood classroom
• Successful experience in school leadership
• Expertise in the developmental and academic needs of PK3 through K students
• Consistent history of personal and professional growth and nurturing growth in others
• Familiarity with Conscious Discipline a plus

Reporting 

The Campus Head is responsible for the accomplishment of the school’s mission through all day-to-day operations of the Preschool Campus (River Ranch). The Campus Head reports directly to the Head of School and works cooperatively with the Campus Heads of Lower & Middle School (Downtown) and Upper School (Sugar Mill Pond), as well as with the Chief Advancement Officer and the Chief Operating Officer.

• Uses the resources of the school efficiently with the priority always on students
• Makes decisions based on evidence and the good of the school as a whole
• Works with the other Campus Heads to align the curriculum vertically

• Understands, supports, and leads the spiritual life of the campus in developmentally appropriate ways
• Aligns with the church’s vision for spiritual life at Ascension as described on the school’s website

• Integrates Christian principles throughout all aspects of the curriculum and operations
