Christchurch School seeks a teacher for its Integrated Science program. This is a great opportunity for a science educator to join a school that uses a place-based curriculum, as well as an integrated science approach that combines biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science with local/regional applications at each grade level to build relevance for students.
Requirements and Qualifications.
- Qualified candidates should hold a bachelor of science degree in Environmental Science, or any field of science if the degree is combined with an interest in teaching integrated science. A master’s degree in science is strongly preferred.
- Formal education training and teaching experience are desirable.
- Candidates should be realistic and excited about the challenges and rewards of teaching and living in a boarding school. In particular, this position is also expected to coach two out of three seasons, act as an advisory to a student advisory group, and do evening and weekend duty on a rotating basis.
- Candidates should be realistic and excited about working with students who have a wide variety of learning styles and ability levels.
- The person in this position will teach a normal course load of four classes.
