Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School, a coeducational prep school in Saratoga, California, is seeking a dynamic Lower School Division Head to join the community in July 2022. Founded by Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in 1961, the school serves students in Grades Pre-Kindergarten to Eight. Today the school has 398 students from over 15 communities in the San Jose / South Bay and Peninsula Area. 

In the Lower Division, the Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten years lay the foundation for children as students and lifelong learners. The early education program provides both an introduction and solid foundation to the academic and social-emotional learning that will continue in both the Lower and Middle School. Lower School educators develop lifelong learners through the delivery of a complete, balanced, and inspiring educational experience. During Lower School, students gain confidence and gradually learn to take greater responsibility for their own learning. They experience an increasing sense of personal accomplishment and a growing awareness of their own learning styles becomes a focus as they begin to grow in knowledge and compassion, awareness, and self-esteem.  

The Lower School Division Head assists the Head of School with assigned responsibilities to implement the mission of the school to ensure that all students fulfill their potential academically, socially, spiritually and physically. Achieving excellence in the school mission requires that the Lower School Division Head works collaboratively to lead and nurture members of the school staff and to communicate effectively with parents and members of the community. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for the welfare of students, the student experience, student engagement, supervision of staff, curriculum development, program evaluation and supervision of general operations of the school.
