Position Summary
In cooperation with the Administrative Team, the Social Worker will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to support the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of our school community. This role will involve individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and collaborating with various stakeholders to address the unique needs of our students.
Qualifications
- Advanced Degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- State licensure or certification as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience working in an elementary school or with children and families
- Empath patience and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students’ lives
- Strong personal and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work part-time hours during the school week.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
- Work with teachers and staff to identify students in need of social/emotional support and develop appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to understand students’ needs and create effective support plans.
- Implement evidence-based strategies to improve students’ coping skills. emotional regulation, and social interactions.
- Provide crisis intervention services when necessary and work with appropriate authorities to ensure the safety of students.
- Collaborate with school administrators to develop and implement programs to support a positive school climate.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the development of social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum.
