Position Summary:
The Tech Support position is responsible for providing technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff. This position reports to the IT Support Supervisor/IT Manager and troubleshoots computer hardware and software. This role will manage the IT ticketing system and be responsible for managing the iCare Center at 7:45am. Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends as needed to meet the changing demands of the school.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Setup, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software.

  • End-user hardware and software support.

  • Hardware and software acquisition and distribution.

  • Daily check of the work order system (currently School Dude)  and responds accordingly. Keep the requestor up to date on all progress.

  • Executes scheduled jobs and monitors completion status. Corrects problems or refers problems to the systems manager.

  • Reports on issue status to management; Provides daily reports and distributes to department members as required.

  • Pursue IT  purchase orders, receive and confirm shipment.

  • Lead in one specific project as designated by the CIO.

  • Requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and the ability and judgment to communicate and interact effectively and appropriately with students, faculty, and other employees.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technology field is preferred.

  • Experience working with different operating systems including Mac OS.

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a customer focused position involving technical knowledge of a company’s products and services.

  • Act as a role model while engaging with a diverse student body and creating an inclusive environment.

  • Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with all constituents. 

  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently.

  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution.

  • Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. 

Physical Demands:  Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and move computers and peripherals for the majority of the work day. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, crawl under desks and confined spaces to install/uninstall and/or move equipment.
