Upper Division Computer Science Teacher

Casady School is seeking a Computer Science teacher to fill a full-time position in the expanding Upper Division Computer Science department beginning July of 2022. This position would have the primary responsibility of teaching computer science to students in ninth through twelfth grade.

This position will be responsible for teaching four sections of Computer Science four to five days on a rotating six-day cycle with classes lasting between 45 – 75 minutes. Courses may include Robotics, Web Development, App Development, Computer Science Fundamentals, Animation and Game Development, Machine Learning, and/or others depending on need as well as the interest and expertise of the teacher.

Prior teaching experience is required, and familiarity with multiple programming languages is preferred, as well as the minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Candidates should be collaborative, creative, and enthusiastic about developing and delivering the curriculum.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in physical computing such as maker space, diy, or robotics.

We are looking for candidates who are committed to a curriculum and learning environment that welcomes all students. Knowledge of best practices especially in teaching project-based courses is expected.

Computer Science at Casady is an innovative curriculum which encourages students to explore computer science beyond a traditional AP curriculum; therefore, teachers are expected to continue learning and researching new emerging technologies to bring into the classroom.
