Grades 6-12 are housed on the Munnerlyn Campus, which is situated on 84 acres along the southern bank of the St. Johns River. Position Overview:

Episcopal School of Jacksonville is seeking a full-time, dedicated Upper School teacher for the Mathematics Department beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. The most competitive candidates will feel comfortable and have a demonstrated interest in teaching any of the college preparatory mathematics courses from Algebra through Calculus. Consideration will be given to candidates who have experience or an interest in teaching an Advanced Algebra course with financial applications. Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have an interest in coordinating extracurricular opportunities in mathematics outside of the classroom. Due to the collegial nature of our faculty, a willing investment in collaborative efforts and professional growth is also a prerequisite of work at Episcopal. Contribution to the larger school community through such means as academic advising, in addition to coaching or sponsoring of extra-curricular programs, is expected of all community members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study from a four-year college or university, or post-graduate work in subject matter; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Three years of teaching experience in an independent school setting is preferred. However, consideration will be afforded to any qualified individual who has either worked in other educational settings or is new to the teaching profession, and who has a strong sense of vocation to work with students in an independent, college-preparatory environment.

• …a comfortable familiarity with the content and skills central to the mathematics discipline; these include, but are not limited to, the effective use of technology in the math classroom and the ability to support the learning of mathematical skills and concepts to students of ranging academic levels and interests.
