Every two years, Episcopal educators, leaders, and friends from around the country come together for three days of learning, community, worship, and reflection. The next Biennial Conference, to be held November 18–20, 2026, will convene under the theme “Be Still, and Know that I am God” (Psalm 46:11), inviting the Episcopal school community to rest in God’s presence and reflect on the sacred and vital work we do in Episcopal schools. NAES has three important updates to share about the next conference.

Change in Venue
NAES Biennial Conference 2026 will now take place in Los Angeles, California at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE. This change in venue comes as a result of circumstances outside of NAES’s control. We look forward to welcoming participants to a new location that will uphold the exceptional standards of hospitality and facilities that NAES conference attendees expect.
While we are saddened that the conference will no longer be held in San Francisco, the relocation to Los Angeles presents an important opportunity to show support and solidarity with our colleagues at schools affected by the recent LA wildfires. We look forward to coming together as a national community of schools in a spirit of faith, resilience, and shared purpose.
Keynote Speaker

NAES is delighted to announce that the keynote speaker for Biennial Conference 2026 will be Dr. Lisa Miller, New York Times bestselling author of The Spiritual Child and The Awakened Brain, and professor of clinical psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. Founder of the Spirituality Mind Body Institute, Dr. Miller is a leading researcher on the link between spirituality and mental health, with work published in top journals including Cerebral Cortex and The American Journal of Psychiatry. Her insights bridge science and faith, offering a powerful and inspiring message for educators and faith leaders alike.
Workshop Proposals
Additionally, NAES is now accepting one-hour workshop proposals for the conference. Educators, administrators, chaplains, faculty members, trustees—or anyone active in the world of Episcopal or independent schools—are encouraged to share their expertise and experience in the following areas:
- Chapel & Worship
