Union, WA 98592

Episcopal school chaplains and parish day school rectors in the Pacific Northwest are invited to this retreat for prayer, networking, and a conversation with the bishops of Olympia and Oregon on the "The Church's Ministry and School Ministry."

Registration Deadline:
The registration deadline is Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. (EST).

Registration Includes:

Registration includes one night's housing (double occupancy), Monday reception and dinner, Tuesday breakfast and lunch, and all conference materials.

Who Should Attend:

This conference is designed for Episcopal school chaplains and parish day school rectors.

Tips for Making the Case for Attending:
Many travel budgets and training budgets have been cut, and some schools are experiencing severe financial problems. This means that regardless of the merits of a retreat, you may need to justify the expense when in previous years you may not have had to do so. So here are some things you might want to consider:
  • Communicate to your head of school what topics will be discussed and what you will specifically bring back as the return for the investment.
  • Offer to prepare and deliver a short presentation and Q&A session with your colleagues to share what you learned. This way others in your school will get the benefits of your attendance, too.
  • Share the handouts with your colleagues. As an attendee, you have unlimited access to materials posted by speakers.
  • Be ready with a plan that shows who will cover for you while you are attending the retreat.
We look forward to seeing you in Union.

Meeting Attire:

Comfortable and casual attire, suitable for the Pacific Northwest in February, is suggested.
