New in 2008 to NAES' program of conferences, the Heads Retreat will offer heads of school a chance to explore spirituality and headship and to have a respite from the busy life of school leadership. The retreat, the theme of which will be The Soul of the School Head, the Soul of a School Community, is designed to dovetail with the beginning of the NAIS Annual Conference that will also take place in New York City.

Retreat leaders will be the Rev. Daniel R. Heischman, NAES Executive Director, and the Rev. Deacon Frances ("Boo") Kay, Prinipal, Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School, Lake Charles, Louisiana.

The retreat chaplain will be the Rev. George E. Andrews II.

Registration Includes:

Your registration includes all sessions, worship services, retreat materials, refreshments and lunch on Tuesday, February 26, 2008. The registration deadline is February 12, 2008 and particpation is limited to the first 47 fully paid registrants. A waiting list will be kept should registrations exceed this number.

Who Should Attend:

This program is limited to current heads of Episcopal schools.

Meeting Attire:

Casual and comfortable clothing is the plan.

Cancellation and Other Policies:

Written cancellations received by fax, 212.286.9366, or by e-mail, djs@episcopalschools.org, no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesdat, February 12, 2008, are entitled to a full refund less a $25 processing fee. Requests received after 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, or by any means other than fax or e-mail will not be entitled to a refund of any kind. NAES is not responsible for any obligation incurred because of airline or travel cancellations or curtailments.


General Hotel Information:

Please note that no hotel block has been arranged for this event. This retreat has been structured to dovetail with the NAIS Annual Conference. If you plan on attending both the retreat and NAIS, we urge you to extend your stay at a NAIS Conference hotel so as to include the retreat dates. If you are not planning to attend the NAIS Annual Conference, please contact David Schnabel, djs@episcopalschools.org, NAES Conference & Communications Coordinator, who will be glad to discuss housing alternatives and options with you.
