QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

*Must have bachelor degree in related field or relevant experience

*Prefer MDiv and Ordained

*Episcopalian or Lutheran preferred

*Must have proof of eligibility to work in the US

*Must be able to clear a level 2 background check

The Chaplain will be responsible:

To report to and support the Rector and Head of School.

To provide pastoral care and ensure the spiritual safety of the community including the students, faculty, and staff.

To participate in the School’s Leadership Team and be the unique voice that may be prophetic and also supportive of the administration.

To follow directives of the Diocese of Southeast Florida to provide training and accountability for the safety of all students, faculty and staff.

To ensure the articulation and discernment of the Episcopal Identity, in congruence with the standards of th Episcopal Church.

To collaborate with members of the Administrative Team and the academic departments with the Chaplaincy programming.

To participate as a faculty member, teaching classes in the Religious Studies, Ethics and Philosophy department.

To ensure the curriculum of the Religious Studies department is congruent with principles of the Episcopal Church.

To oversee the Saint Mark’s Chapel and its gatherings including school chapels, convocations, and sacramental events, especially with the daily spiritual life of the school.

To engage in community life in which prayer, reflection and matters of the spirit are honored and cultivated.

To respond pastorally to local, national, international tragedies and celebrations, and also compose prayers while offering reassurance with school life moments.

To prepare chapels, convocations and community events, including holy days for daily school life.

To secure inclusion, diversity, and equity for each community member especially in regard to various religious and cultural backgrounds.

To be in relationship with the Episcopal Schools of the Diocese and keep current with the National Association of Episcopal Schools.

To participate in the local Clericus and Diocesan events, including worship service, convocations, conventions and retreats.
