St. Martin’s-in-the-Field Episcopal School, a small and vibrant community dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of young children, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our education team. This teacher will help to create a developmentally appropriate, supportive, and joyful classroom for our youngest learners.
St. Martin’s-in-the-Field Episcopal School is an accredited, co-educational independent day school in Severna Park, MD, enrolling 230-250 students (Preschool- 8th Grade). St. Martin’s promotes a love of inquiry, a sustaining faith, a call to service, and a generous spirit open to new ideas. Our school encourages each individual to grow in Confidence, Compassion, and Character.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate curriculum for Preschool students. • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and self-confidence. • Use differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. • Assess student progress regularly and maintain appropriate records. • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians through regular conferences, written reports, and other forms of communication. • Integrate Episcopal values and character education into daily lessons and activities. • Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to support the overall academic and social development of students. • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and other school-related activities.
Qualifications: • A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field. • At least 2 years of experience teaching preschool in a similar early childhood education setting. • Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. • Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty, staff, and parents. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • A commitment to the school’s Episcopal values and inclusive, respectful teaching practices. • Ability to integrate technology and creative learning tools into the curriculum.
Physical Demands: The position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including walking, climbing stairs, running, standing, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must be able to actively participate in all activities related to the role.
Compensation: Compensation aligns with AIMS medians for comparable schools. We offer a full range of benefits including health, dental, and vision, 403b, paid time off plus school holidays.
