Preventative Maintenance & Projects Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Preventative Maintenance and Projects Coordinator reports to the Director of Buildings and Grounds and manages assigned special projects and develops and implements all preventative and program maintenance tasks for the school and residences. This includes, but is not limited to: maintenance and repairs of electrical; plumbing; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); carpentry; painting; fire-life safety and other building and grounds systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Manages preventive and program maintenance for the assigned campus(es) and special projects as assigned.
Proactively evaluates building systems, facilities and grounds to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
Manages online work order management system for preventative and program maintenance related to school buildings, grounds and school residences.
Manages assigned special projects.
Coordinates work with outside contractors when necessary.
Communicates with occupants of residences to schedule work.
Manages key control system, including key requests and door locks.
Collaborates with and assists team members when necessary (i.e. events set-up and break-down).
Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
Maintains records of equipment performance and preventative maintenance.
Orders and maintains inventory of necessary maintenance supplies and equipment.
Supports and backfills divisional campus supervisors and personnel when necessary
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and program management skills.
Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to communicate effectively with individuals at varying levels.
Proficient with computers or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least five years of related experience required.
Driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk extensive campus properties for prolonged periods of time when necessary.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crouch / crawl into spaces when necessary.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
