Caring for the Whole Child in 2022

Holy Nativity Episcopal school is located in Panama City, FL. In October of 2018, our area endured Category 5 Hurricane Michael. Our community, including our school building, was devastated. We finished that school year in a school of portable buildings on our nearby church campus.  We were so grateful to be able to begin our 2019-2020 school year back on our beautiful, repaired campus, but that school year and the one following was heavily impacted by COVID-19 and online learning.

By the time we began the 2021-2022 school year, it was apparent that the emotional and mental well-being of our students needed more support than ever. One of the layers of support we dreamed of adding was counseling from a local agency, and we wanted to provide that to our students at no cost to their families. We are grateful to NAES for helping us fund this endeavor. Our counselor’s caseload grew quickly, and our students love their time spent with her. We’ve seen a decrease in negative behavior and an increase in motivation in our students as a result of meeting these needs. Thank you for helping us care for the whole child at Holy Nativity!
