Putting Private High School Within Reach

Imago Dei exclusively serves students grades 5-8 from under-resourced families, closing educational gaps so they can achieve their full potential in high school and beyond. Year after year, with the help of our awesome Graduate Support staff, our incredible alums make it happen, posting up a 95%+ on-time high-school graduation rate – a good twenty points above the Pima County average.

A big part of this success lies in finding the right “fit” for each graduating 8th-grader, and often that’s at one of Tucson’s excellent private high schools, where small class sizes and personal attention recall the supportive, homelike environment of IDMS.  The catch is that while our scholars qualify for full-ride scholarships, those funds don’t cover registration or technology fees or, often, textbooks – “necessary extras” that can run to many hundreds of dollars a year, creating an insuperable barrier to entry for financially struggling families.

Enter the school’s Private High School Access Fund, established in 2021 with the help of a generous EUSA grant from NAES. We could not be more grateful for the funding from the Good Samaritan Foundation that helps make it possible for us to fulfill our promise to each of our grads – that financial barriers will not stand between them and the achievement of their dreams.
