Introducing The Commons and the E-mail Discussion Lists

NAES is pleased to introduce two new member services on its website: The Commons (our sort-of-a-blog) and E-mail Lists. These new features are located in the new Community section of the Association’s website.

Community
Community is NAES’ new website section featuring tools and services to help members connect with their colleagues. It currently includes The Commons, E-mail Lists, and the existing Members’ Directory (formerly in Resources) and will include future social media and other platforms that NAES may adopt.

The creation of Community came about as development of The Common and E-mail Lists unfolded. We concluded that we needed a discreet area of the website devoted to facilitating peer-to-peer connections, and that these new services belonged in it, rather than in Resources, which now includes the Library, the Proud Member Logo, and other items.

The Commons
The Commons will feature timely, sometimes tough, questions, insights, and feedback from NAES and Episcopal school leaders on leadership, governance, Episcopal identity, community life, and other issues. Readers can reply to each post and subscribe to a RSS feed to know when new posts appear.

E-mail Lists
To promote the development of community and to facilitate the sharing of resources, knowledge, and best practices, NAES now offers eight e-mail lists to which members may subscribe. Six are subject-based open -subscriiption lists (with archives). Two are closed-subscription lists for heads of school and rectors.
