NAES Remembers Sandi Hannibal

L to R: The Rev. Canon Preston B. Hannibal, The Rev. David A. Madison, D.Min., Sandi Hannibal and Rodney Glasgow at the Episcopal Urban School Alliance 2023 annual meeting.

Dear Friends,

It’s with a heavy heart that I announce the death of Sandi Hannibal. For decades, Sandi and Preston have been cherished members of the NAES community. A founder of the Bishop Walker School for Boys and a past member of the NAES staff team, Sandi was instrumental in linking Episcopal identity with our work in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Sandi passed peacefully at home on Monday, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Funeral arrangements are pending and will likely take place at the Washington National Cathedral later this spring. Cards and notes may be sent to Preston Hannibal in care of the NAES office:

May Sandi’s soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon them.

Yours in God’s love,

The Rev. David A. Madison, D.Min.
