St. George Episcopal School’s “Chain of Love” Wins Spurs Team Up Challenge

[St. George Episcopal School] The San Antonio Spurs and Silver & Black Give Back, the team’s charitable foundation, have announced that St. George Episcopal School‘s Chain of Love is one of five Team Up Challenge champions for the 2010-2011 academic year! As a Team Up Challenge Champion, St. George will be awarded $20,000 to help market and develop the Chain of Love program for other schools and organizations. It will not be used towards the current Chain of Love fundraising campaign or awarded to our charities.

The Chain of Love project raises money and awareness about global poverty, hunger, and related issues. A single domino in an enormous domino chain represents each dollar raised. And the end of the event, the chain is collapsed in the school’s gymnasium in celebration, and funds are sent to deserving organizations. The project, a winner of the Southwestern Association of Episcopal School‘s Ken Bastian Service Award, was featured as a poster session presentation at NAES’ Biennial Conference 2010.
