We are happy to report that two schools in the area of California’s Station Fire, St. George’s Episcopal Preschool, La Cañada, and Saint Mark’s Episcopal School, Altadena, are both currently fine and out of harm’s way. However, Serena Beeks, executive director of the Commission on Schools of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, also reports that some parents and personnel at both schools have had to evacuate from their homes.
Please keep Cherie McSweeney, director of St. George’s, Doreen S. Oleson, head of school at Saint Mark’s, their faculties, staff, students, families, and parishes in your prayers. Please also pray for a speedy end to the fire and safety for all, particularly the hard-working and exhausted firefighters.
